How to Get Your Alabama Real Estate License

Step 1: Complete Pre-Licensing Education

Complete a 60-hour approved salesperson pre-licensing course from an Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) approved school.

Step 2: Pass the License Exam

Schedule and pass both the national and state portions of the Alabama real estate exam through PSI. You must score 70% or higher.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Apply for your license through the Alabama Real Estate Commission with background check and fingerprints.

Step 4: Affiliate with a Broker

Your license must be held by a licensed broker. KPDD handles the affiliation process.

Step 5: Post-Licensing Education

Complete 30 hours of post-licensing education within your first renewal period.
